If you’ve completed building your own home or hired someone to build your home within the last two years, you may qualify for the GST/HST New Housing Rebate. How Long Will It Take To Receive My GST/HST New Housing Rebate?
Timing may vary per client but it could take anywhere from four to eight weeks on average unless the CRA has requested an audit from you. Whether you’ve built a new home, purchased a new investment property or undergone substantial home renovations, you have two years to apply from the date you closed on the property and/or you completed your renovation/new build project.
